mactelnet-client software package provides Console tools for telneting and pinging via MAC addresses, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mactelnet-client
mactelnet-client is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mactelnet-client package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mactelnet-client *
You will get with mactelnet-client package name, version, architecture and description in a table
